Compassionate book coaching for writers and soon-to-be authors.

Editor and Book Writing Coach Annie Mesaros

Bring your manuscript to life with one-on-one book writing coaching that helps you make measurable progress on your draft (and feel amazing about yourself along the way).

Start writing with confidence, clarity, and support.

If you’ve been trying to write your book for months (or years), you’re not alone.

It’s one thing to have a great idea. It’s another to turn that idea into a finished manuscript.

You’ve been collecting notes, journaling ideas, and telling yourself, “This is the year I’ll finally write my book.” Yet somehow, life keeps getting in the way.

I know you’ve wondered it, but no, you’re not a fraud. You are a writer who just needs the right mix of structure, encouragement, and accountability.

This is where book coaching comes in.

Picture meeting someone who was deeply impacted by your work.

You’re in a book store, signing a copy of your book for a young person and they say,
“This book was exactly what I needed.”

You guest lecture in a class and a student says, “It finally clicked for me when I read your analogy of…”

You get an email from a reader who says,
“I shared your book with my therapist and now they finally understand what I went through.”

Annie's consultations helped distill the endless mindmaps and Google Docs I had into a consistent thread that I could put into a finished manuscript. I went from years of anxious typing to one year of consistent, intentional writing. And I finished my book!

Writing is really hard.

You know what you want to say, but articulating it is so damn difficult. And it’s so vulnerable. It’s your craft! It’s your heart spilling onto the page.

And so it’s easy to just not do it. To let other tasks or responsibilities get in the way of writing. To clean your desk and respond to emails and go down a Wikipedia rabbit hole and then whoops! Time to make dinner.

Imagine having a teammate, cheerleader, and gentle guide with you in the process.

Now you look forward to writing, instead of dreading it.

You’re eager to share your work, instead of fearful.

It’s still vulnerable to put your heart out there, but now it has a sort of daring edge to it. You wonder, “Am I amazing?!” (Yes. Yes, you are.)

Here’s everything you get with book coaching sessions:

Space to reconnect with your purpose as a writer.

Each session is a chance to pause, breathe, and come home to your creative process. As your book writing coach, I’ll guide you through the blocks that keep you stuck and help you move forward with confidence. Together, we’ll brainstorm ideas, untangle challenges in your manuscript, and create an action plan that fits your life and writing rhythm.

  • 60-minute sessions designed for real progress.
Dedicated, focused time to move your book forward, no matter what stage you’re in.

  • Virtual book coaching from anywhere.
We’ll meet on Google Meet, so you can log on from your home office, a café, or even your car during soccer practice.

  • Flexible pacing.
Choose how often to meet: weekly, monthly, or as needed. You set the pace of your writing journey.

A supportive structure to help you finish your manuscript.

Between sessions, you’ll have a clear roadmap:

  • A personalized writing assignment list so you always know what to work on next.

  • Permission to write your way—whether that’s late at night or on your lunch break.

  • Gentle accountability to help you keep going when resistance creeps in.

Tools and strategies that make writing feel joyful again.

You’ll experiment with new creative habits, simple mindset shifts, and playful exercises designed to refill your creative well. We’ll make space for what inspires you—from museum visits to spontaneous journaling to quiet walks that spark new ideas.

After each session, you’ll receive your notes, resources, and next steps in one organized hub in Notion. You’ll never have to scramble for what we discussed or wonder what to do next.

Choose your rate.

My coaching fees are on a sliding scale, honoring accessibility and anti-capitalist values. Read the descriptions and decide what resonates most. You’ll select the tier that fits your current financial situation before your first session.

  • Tier 1 | $140
I’m financially comfortable. I can regularly afford extras like eating out, subscriptions, travel, and event tickets. I’ll pay it forward and help offset the cost for others who are struggling.

  • Tier 2 | $125
I feel financial stress at times, but I regularly manage to pay my bills. I may need to cut back on some extras to budget for coaching sessions, but I’ve got it covered.

  • Tier 3 | $90
I don’t have financial reserves and/or I have looming debt. I’m choosing to invest in coaching sessions, but I welcome some assistance.

This tier structure was adapted from Kimberly Hock, who was inspired and directly informed by the work of Alexis J.Cunninfolk and Yvette of Inner Flow Somatic Counseling.

It’s so lovely to meet you!

Hi, I’m Annie!

I created this coaching offering after many calls and strategy sessions with clients, teasing out next steps that were not only necessary to meet their goals, but personalized to their work and life styles and their goals—not some generic how-to advice.

I love having these calls with clients because writing is such a profound, and personal process. From a young age, I’ve been a prolific journaler, blogger, copy writer, and editor through a variety of personal pursuits, then through various jobs as a marketing professional for nonprofits and as a freelancer.

Because most of my clients come to me through personal referrals, I tend to have seasons with different focuses. For awhile it was editing and doing graphic design layouts. Then I worked with some academic writers who speak English as a second language and I helped with fluency and cultural references. And for the past few years, I’ve labored alongside clients who have the beginnings of a book, the idea for a book, the makings of a book, but they need help getting it to a full manuscript.

That’s how I came to be a book midwife. So whether you need a coach to get your manuscript written or a guide to help you grow your writing practice or you need a conversation partner to support any other writing dream, I’m here for it.
